The internet is full of fantastic resources for learning Torah. While RemoteShul offers live classes for members, our Sages teach us Ein adam lomeid ella bmakom shelibo chafetz. You may be drawn to a particular style or speaker on YUTorah, you may enjoy videos from Rabbi David Forman of AlephBeta, you may prefer printed insights from the archives of Rabbi Sacks, or a timely Dvar Torah posted on a blog or shul website you don't follow or a WhatsApp group of daily Torah that you don't even know exists. RemoteShul gathers Torah from these sites and more so you can find, share, and comment on what members of our community are enjoying.
Subscribe to our weekly bulletin to see this in action, as Rabbi Hoberman's weekly parsha summaries contain links to tens of classes and articles culled from throughout the internet.
Yes! But in today's Jewish Community, the shul represents something more than a place to daven; Shul memberships is synonymous with membership in the community. RemoteShul is not a place to daven, but aims to provide direction and fill the communal void for those who are not members of a traditional shul.
See for yourself! RemoteShul has many of the features of social media, but without trolls, hate speech, and politics. Our community provides members with a space for discussions dedicated to religious growth with Rabbinic oversight. All members are approved by Rabbi Hoberman and will be removed for acting in a way that is not consistent with RemoteShul's values.
Basic membership is free, providing you access to our discussions and weekly bulletin. Premium membership is $19.99/month and provides you with access to our Rabbi, Rabbi Scott Hoberman. Premium members will have the opportunity to set up private meetings with Rabbi Hoberman in our OfficeHours space, attend premium classes such as our monthly Live Q&A, and will have the opportunity to provide direction for the future of RemoteShul.
